Job Description

Thomas, Judy & Tucker, a growing CPA firm with offices in Raleigh and Durham NC, is seeking a tax professional with one to four years of public accounting experience to join our firm in a full time role.  We are looking for professionals with experience in public accounting to be an integral part of our 100+  person staff.  We are looking for candidates who have their CPA certification or are actively pursuing their CPA.
The firm’s practice is well developed and has a wide range of clients within the areas of hospitality, manufacturing, real estate, non-profit agencies, low-income housing and construction.  Our employees enjoy the opportunity to work closely with the owners and management of middle-market companies and established family-owned businesses. We strive to exceed client expectations by establishing a collaborative business partnership with our clients.

The ideal candidate would have a range of experience preparing business and individual tax returns as well as the ability to work independently.  Additional qualifications would include general accounting knowledge as well as experience with financial statement preparation.  Strong communication skills are required for managing and developing client relationships.  Experience using CCH Prosystems Tax and Engagement trial balance software would be an asset to the candidate.

We offer 38 hour workweeks with half-day Fridays outside of tax season as well as reasonable expectations for hours during tax season.  We are a family-oriented firm with a reputation for excellence in the Raleigh/Durham area. Job Requirements

The candidate is expected to have a degree in accounting and be a CPA or actively working towards that designation.  The ideal candidate would have experience dealing with a wide variety of business entities as well as trusts and estates.

Our firm offers close relationships with clients, so the applicant should be comfortable working with clients on a daily basis.  We offer a collaborative working atmosphere where our employees become part of a cohesive client service team.  Communication is a critical part of being a CPA in the modern business climate and any applicant would be expected to have the necessary business communication skills.
