The owners and employees of TJT are proud to be involved with several community projects this holiday season. We are very fortunate to work in a vibrant and growing area like the Triangle. We are excited for the opportunity to give back in multiple ways and we thank our clients and business partners for supporting us throughout the year.
Backpack Buddies is a program designed to provide children from low-income households with 10-12 pounds of nutritious, kid-friendly groceries for the weekend when free school lunches and breakfasts are not available. According to Feeding America, one in five children in North Carolina is at risk for hunger this year. TJT held a competition between our outsource accounting team and the audit/tax team to see who could collect and donate the most food items for Backpack Buddies. We coordinated our efforts with the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle who runs Backpack Buddies in the Triangle area. In the end, the real winner was the Backpack Buddies program itself. We collected and donated 2,730 food items!
The InterAct Holiday Bazaar is an event where parents and families are able to pick out Christmas presents that they might not otherwise be able to afford. As part of this effort, TJT employees collected and donated toys for the InterAct Elf Party/Toy Drive. The toys were delivered by “TJT elves,” who stuck around to help wrap too. We had a great time helping the staff at InterAct prepare a toy store, wrapping station, Mom’s boutique as well as decorating the building for the holiday. 537 of InterAct’s clients (and their families) will be able to pick out presents for their families, at no cost to them. Interact is a TJT client and we are proud to support their efforts at Christmastime and throughout the year. We donated 101 items to this program for this Christmas season!
Wake County Holiday Cheer Program allows individuals and companies in our area to provide Christmas gifts for Wake county families that would otherwise not be able to afford presents for Christmas. TJT sponsored a family of 6 this year. Through owner and employee donations, we purchased gifts for the 3 children under 12 years old, as well as two teenagers and their grandmother. We were able to provide the three large gifts (two bikes, helmets, and an electric paw patrol ATV) for the 3 youngest kids as well as a gift basket and gift cards for the older children and grandmother.
